My biography
Ira Goifeld, a virtuoso clarinet player, an artist of sound and emotion, completed a music degree at the Jerusalem Academy as a classical musician in the class of Mr. Ilan Shul. After that he studied the secrets of klezmer music with the legendary clarinet player Giora Feidman. Ira managed to establish himself as one of the leading players in the field of classical music. After participating in two of the most important classical clarinet competitions in the world, ARD in Munich and the Geneva competition, Ira started his career as a klezmer music player.
In 2006, Ira Goifeld took on the role of the soloist in the musical group “Tapuh Bedvash”, where he managed to present his virtuoso skills and combine them with the magic of klezmer music. Over time, Ira went on tours in Israel and throughout Europe and participated in the prestigious klezmer festivals in Austria and Macedonia. There he performed in front of diverse audiences and presented traditional music in an innovative and modern way. Since then, Ira has been a regular guest at the international klezmer festival in Safed.
And in 2012 he won first place in the first klezmer competition in Tel Aviv. Ira’s classical repertoire includes works from the classical period to contemporary works, including works dedicated to him by composers. Ira’s performance combines authentic klezmer playing with virtuosity acquired from the world of classical music. Ira plays in collaboration with the international violinist Eyal Shiloh, the pianist and composer Doctor Uri Brenner, the drummer Yoni Medar and other musicians.
